Cookies

The short version: our cookies are boring. A handful of small, essential ones make chat, language, and the banners work — none of them track you around the internet. Analytics cookies exist only if you say yes in the banner. Reject everything optional and the site still works fine.

1. Essential cookies (always on)

These are the site's wiring — without them chat and your preferences simply break, which is why the banner can't turn them off:

  • selly_buyer_token — a random token that reconnects this browser to your own chats when you come back. Lives about a year. It knows your browser, not your name.

  • selly_session — an anonymous id used to count item views (so we know the lamp got 40 views). No profile behind it.

  • selly_consent — remembers what you chose in the cookie banner, so we don't nag you on every page.

  • selly_lang — your language choice.

  • selly_has_chats & selly_chat_muted — tiny helpers: whether to show your chat list, and whether you muted the chat sound.

  • selly_promo_dismissed & selly_notices — remember which announcement bars and popups you already closed, so they stay closed.

Staff who log in to run the sale get a login session cookie too — buyers never do, because buyers don't have accounts.

2. Analytics cookies (only if you say yes)

If — and only if — you accept analytics in the banner, Google Analytics sets its cookies (_ga and friends) to tell us things like how many people visited and which items are popular. Say no and they're never set. Change your mind later? Clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner will ask again.

3. Google reCAPTCHA

Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which may set its own cookies to tell humans from bots. Those are Google's cookies, under Google's privacy terms — not ours.

4. Sponsored & affiliate links

Click a card marked “Sponsored” and you leave this site. Whatever cookies the partner site sets over there are theirs, governed by their policies — not ours, and not our responsibility.

5. No responsibility

To the maximum extent the law allows, we accept no liability for cookies set by third parties (Google, partner sites) or for how your own browser stores or handles anything. You control your browser; you use this site at your own risk.

6. This policy can change

If our cookies change, this page changes. The published version is the one that applies.
