Privacy

The short version: you don't need an account here, so we don't have one on you. No sign-ups, no passwords, no payment data. What we keep is your chats with us, whatever info you choose to type into them, one cookie so you can come back to those chats, and basic technical logs. That's the whole list.

1. No accounts, no profiles

Buyers never register on Selly. There is no buyer account, no password, no profile, no marketing list. The only logins that exist are for our own staff. If you never chat with us, we know essentially nothing about you.

2. What we actually keep

Your chats. The messages you send us, and any name, email, or phone number you choose to share in a chat or the contact form so we can arrange a pickup. Don't want us to have it? Don't type it.
One cookie. A random token (selly_buyer_token, kept for about a year) that reconnects you to your own chats when you come back. It identifies your browser, not your name.
Basic technical logs. IP address, browser type, and which pages/items were viewed — used for security, blocking spam and abuse, and simple stats like "this lamp got 40 views."

3. What we never have

No passwords. No card numbers or payment data — you pay cash or Zelle in person, so payment never touches this site. And we never sell, rent, or trade anything we hold to anyone. There's nothing to sell — it's chat messages about used stuff.

4. Cookies & analytics

Essential cookies (the chat token and your cookie-consent choice) are always on — the site doesn't work without them. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner. Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's own privacy terms.

5. Sponsored & affiliate links

Clicking a card marked “Sponsored” takes you off this site. What third parties collect on their own pages is governed by their privacy policies, not this one — and it is not our responsibility.

6. Retention & deletion

Chats stick around as long as they're useful for running the sale. Want yours gone? Say so right in the chat and we'll delete the conversation and everything you shared in it.

7. No responsibility

We protect what little we hold with reasonable care, but to the maximum extent the law allows, we accept no liability for events beyond our control — including breaches of third-party services we rely on (hosting, Google, partner sites) or for information you voluntarily chose to share. You use this site at your own risk.

8. This policy can change

We can update this page at any time; the published version is the one that applies. Keep using the site and you accept it.
